Introducing energtx: Global Energy Data Platform
Why We Built energtx
Energy data is scattered across dozens of institutional databases, each with different formats, update cycles, and access methods. Researchers spend hours downloading, cleaning, and merging datasets before they can begin their actual analysis.
energtx solves this by providing a single, clean, downloadable dataset that combines data from four trusted sources into one platform.
What Is Included
22,596 Data Records
Our dataset covers 56 countries across six continents with 17 energy indicators spanning from 1990 to 2023. Every record includes the country name, ISO code, indicator, year, value, unit, and data source.
Four Data Sources
| Source | Indicators | Coverage | |--------|-----------|----------| | World Bank | 8 indicators | 56 countries | | IEA | 3 indicators | 56 countries | | EIA | 3 indicators | 56 countries | | Eurostat | 3 indicators | 14 EU countries |
Key Indicators
- Electricity consumption (kWh per capita)
- Energy use (kg oil equivalent per capita)
- Renewable energy share (% of total)
- CO2 emissions (metric tons per capita)
- Oil production (thousand barrels/day)
- Electricity and gas prices
- Solar and wind capacity (GW installed)
- And 10 more...
Download Formats
All data is available in three formats:
- JSON — For APIs and developers
- CSV — For Python, R, and data analysis
